Gyokuro Hiki is an exceptional green tea, cultivated in the Wakayama region, near the Hiki River, in southern Japan. Renowned for its meticulous harvesting and careful shading, it stands out with its unique sensory profile. 

🌿 Origin & cultivation

• Derived from intense shading (up to 90%) for 2 to 3 weeks before picking, promoting an increased concentration of L-theanine and chlorophyll

• Harvesting is often manual and traditional, ensuring premium quality and intact leaves.

✨ Aromatic profile

• The long, deep green needles reveal a clear yellow-green, limpid and brilliant liquor

• Intense and balanced aromas: fresh vegetal notes, sweet umami, floral and slightly fruity or chestnut nuances 

🫖 Ideal preparation

• Temperature: 60°C

• Dosing: 4–5 g for 150–200 ml of water 

• Infusion time: 1 to 3 minutes depending on desired intensity

• Multiple infusions: generally 2 to 3, with progressive durations and water between 60–80°C
